Top Five Ranked Table Tennis Playing Golfers Released

It’s just a bit of fun is Ping Pong.  Or is it?

With rain delays and long down times now par for the course at Tour events, the table tennis table has become the scene of many a testosterone fuelled battle between bored golfers.  Whilst new arrivals to the table coming every year, the world’s top five golfing ping pong players is beginning to take shape.

Here’s my read on it.

Rank 5: Tiger Woods

tt tigerMore than all the other guys, Tiger plays in his spare time.  He’s far to preoccupied with the sport at which he makes a living to practice table tennis, but when he picks up the bat is a natural.  Urban legend tells of a furious row between Tiger and Phil after a table of food got in the way during a crucial point in a match.  Nudges out Jason Day for fifth.

 

Rank 4: Sergio Garcia

tt sergioProbably the fittest of all the players, Garcia takes every ball early with a very aggressive top spin style.  It can work great in some circumstances, it can be his greatest weakness in others.

 

Rank 3: Phil Mickelson

tt philNot the most agile of players, but certainly one of the most skilful. Has done to Tiger on the table tennis table what Tiger has done to him on the golf course.  A natural.  Mickelson even had a ping pong table sent to the last Callaway photo shoot in the desert to practice between takes.

 

Rank 2: Matt Kuchar

tt kuchOne of the enduring greats on the table tennis table over the past 10 years on the PGA Tour.  When people even hear that Matt Kuchar is in the clubhouse playing table tennis, they run in to watch.  Sponsors such as BMW have even brought in professionals on occasion at tournament to play Kuch as a publicity stunt.  Has the measure of everyone bar one with paddle in hand. Played US Olympian Timothy Wang in 2013.

 

Rank 1: Freddie Jacobson

tt freddieThe undisputed king of the rain delay, The Yak was an international standard junior in Sweden and loves to pick up the paddle and annihilate all around him.  Freddie did admit that Matt Kuchar took a lead on him ONCE, but he rallied to win pretty comfortably in the end.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! When I rocked in, several men (and one woman) were gathered around an iphone ogling and sharing  two pics of who they claimed were Holly Sonders naked. Now I have to hold my hands up and say, I had to google her to find out she’s from The Golf Channel. I don’t watch the Golf Channel because I don’t have an erectile dysfunction problem or need to rent a car from National.  I’m told adverts for both are all that’s on that channel. Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. However we do intend to rectify this during our US Masters coverage and assure viewers that plenty of bridge rivets will be on show, both from Sarah and special guest Colin Montgomeri

Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
