All Eyes On Simon Dyson Who Keeps Head Down On Return From âCheatingâ Hearing
Simon Dyson kicks off his season on Tour at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship later today. Itâs his first time facing his fellow players after the Lake Malaren cheating hearing which resulted in his being put on probation for the next 18 months.
Despite the deafening absence of public support from his fellow professionals in the aftermath of the BMW Masters, the 36 year old was keeping his head down and getting on with his tournament preparations.
âEveryoneâs just getting on with it,â said Simon. âWhatâs in the past is in the past, and I canât do anything about it. Thatâs the way Iâve looked at it since the day of the hearing, really. As soon as it was over, it was over. ⦠Just get on with it and looking forward to starting afresh now.â
âEveryone has been coming up and talking to me,â he said. âNobody has mentioned it. Itâs gone now and there isnât anything anybody can say or do that will change what happened. I wish I could change it, but nobody can, so I just have to get on with it and carry on.â
Dyson still maintains that he never intended to cheat at the BMW Masters and having viewed the video many times, Iâm still convinced it was not intentional.
âIâm just going to be very careful from now on, make sure Iâm on the ball and be very professional about everything I do.â
âI donât think you can get a worse time, really,â he said, according to the report. âIt wasnât very nice. In the last two years Iâve not really enjoyed my golf, and then to have it all topped off by that was pretty low.â
