Odyssey Sign Stewart Cink’s Ridiculous Two Tone Head To Be The New Face Of Versa Putters

In a bold move Odyssey have signed Stewart Cink’s Head on a short term contract to be the face of their 2014 Versa putter range.  Odyssey bosses say Cink’s Head has the “perfect look” to represent their product.

stewart cink funny“We were looking for a player with an outrageously two tone head to represent the black and white of the Versa and Stewart’s use of light and shade on his crown is phenomenal”, said Odyssey chief designer Rollie Austinson.

Since winning the Open Championship in 2009, Cink’s Head lived for two years on a mountain in Colombia carefully exposing the lower portion of the dome to searing sunlight, in just enough quantities to achieve the ridiculous look.

In 2011, Cink’s Head made its acting debut in a Cillit Bang TV Commercial and became well known in Outer Mongolia for pointing to itself and proclaiming “Bang and the dirt is gone.”  It has since gone on to star in adverts for chess boards, piano keys and even a company specializing in clothing for burglars.

"Getting to this point was difficult,” said Cink about his head. “It’s not like you can just rush out into the sun willy nilly. You have to consider hat size, flipping over, tanning oils, timings; it’s a minefield. Ears can be a real difficulty."

Four years on and Cink’s Head has achieved the perfect crown of a ghost and the withered orange face of a retired Oompa Loompa.

"I keep it topped up by catching  a few face rays during peaking sunlight hours,” laughed Cink.

Cink’s Head will appear in TV commercials showcasing the “Jailbird” and “Havoc” range of Odyssey Versa putters next week.
