Some Say Elvis, Others Jim Morrisson, But We Say Arnie Is The King!
Great to see Arnold Palmer in such good health as he celebrated his 85th birthday today.
Yes Elvis is the King of rock and roll and Jim Morrison the underground Lizard King but for all of us golf lovers "The King" is, and will always be, Arnold Palmer.
Born on this day in 1929 Palmer won 95 times, all told, as a professional including seven Major Championships.
As a child who missed the Palmer era my generation still say Arnie is the King because of his demeanour, his character, his sportsmanship, his personable character, his work for charity and his ambassadorial work for the game of golf.
Long live the King!
