Justin Rose recreates the Payne Stewart fist-pump on the 18th green at Pinehurst

Anytime the USGA goes back to Pinehurst from now until the end of time, Payne Stewart will be one of the focal points. A winner on this golf course back in 1999, Stewart tragically passed away in a plane crash later that year, and a statue sits behind the 18th green honoring the man that made that incredibly clutch putt on the final green in '99.

The USGA decided to go with that same pin placement on Sunday at this year's U.S. Open, giving a tribute to Stewart in their own way on their return to Pinehurst.

Justin Rose got to the 18th hole on Sunday without a chance at defending his title, but he had played some solid golf throughout the week and had a good look at birdie on that final green. Rose rolled in the birdie putt, and then extended his arm with his foot raised, just as Payne did in '99 when his par putt dropped for the one-shot victory.

We've already seen Payne's daughter, Chelsea, recreate the famous pose earlier this week, and with Rickie Fowler's tribute on Thursday and this from Rose, it was a pretty special week around Pinehurst.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
