Graeme McDowell shows you the 'fake rough' at Pinehurst

Unless you've been hiding from golf coverage, you know that Pinehurst #2 has gone through a redesign. The golf course hosting this U.S. Open won't be like the one in 2005 or the course in 1999, with changes to bring in those sandy areas instead of traditional rough making it look and feel different than championships of old.

But the redesign didn't change the fact that the USGA loves their rough, even if that means bringing in some "fake rough" as Graeme McDowell puts it.

McDowell posted this video behind the 12th green, of a ball that ended up right against what looks like a huge patch of nasty rough. Usually this would make the shot virtually impossible to get close, but as McDowell shows you, all you have to do is just pick up the unnatural grass and toss it aside.

Who knows if this is just a one-off instance, or actually something that the USGA intended to make the course tougher, but if I was playing this week at Pinehurst I would make sure to tug on each piece of rough I saw to make sure it wasn't something that was okay to move.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
