Brett Rumford Raises Eyebrows With Tin Cup 11 On First Hole
When Brett Rumford is good, heâs untouchable. And along with Thomas Bjorn he has the greatest set of eyebrows in professional golf.
But if the the loveable Aussie has any weakness, it might be that he just goes a bit crooked off the tee from time to time. With an accuracy clip of seven fairways or 49% per round on the European Tour this season, bringing the wonky big stick to the toughened up Doral was going to be a big ask for Brett.
And so it proved on the very first hole, which this year has been transformed from one of the easiest holes on Tour to one of the toughest.
Poor old Brett banged his first three shots straight into the water before finally hitting his seventh stroke down the right to safety. He ended up with a sextuple-bogey 11 to start the tournament.
Could things get any worse for Brett who was 8 over when rain stopped play? Yep. Thereâs no cut this week.
