Joel Sjoholm Sleeps Through 6 Alarms, Plays First Hole In Untied Sneakers
Colourful Swede Joel Sjoholm woke up 32 minutes and a taxi ride away from his early start at the Hong Kong Open yet made it onto the tee on time, wearing an untied pair of sneakers.
But not only did he narrowly avoid disqualification, Sjoholm shot two under par, his best start to an event in some time.

Without a playing card for the 2014 season, the heavy sleeping âToroâ managed to sleep through the six alarms he had set to get up and eventually woke up at 7.58 am, with a tee time of 8.30 am.
Arriving at the course in a taxi, Joel didnât even have time to get his shoes from the locker, running instead to the first tee in a pair of untied sneakers.
European Tour officials then met him at the back of the first green with a choice of two pairs of golf shoes.
âIt was the royal treatment of the European Tour I have to say,â Sjoholm said after.
