2014 US Masters Betting Preview: Stats Crunch
Amazing work by the team at ESPN putting all those US Masters stats together.
âTeeâ minus 13 days to ceremonial first drives by Jack, Arnie and Gary.
While you are getting your shortlist together on the betting slip, here are a few stats that were of interest to me and might have you adding a name or two to your list.
Since 2009 only eight players have played all four rounds
Tiger Woods: 1,411 (Injury or not, Woods hasnât missed a cut here since 1996)
Angel Cabrera: 1,412 (Cabrera seems to save his very best for Augusta. A win and a close second to Scott last year. Hasn't missed the cut since 2005.)
Lee Westwood: 1,414 (Split with Hank Haney a few weeks back. Can he find his old swing in time.)
Phil Mickelson: 1,415 (He may be struggling off the tee at the moment, but Phil has every shot needed round Augusta.)
Nick Watney: 1,435 (Now there is a surprise.)
Steve Stricker: 1,438 (Very quiet this year to date, having took time out to be with his ill brother.)
Sergio Garcia: 1,446 (Brings his best formline, consistency wise, into the event this year.)
Trevor Immelman: 1,452 (Cameo in Texas, what a super outside bet. Was 150/1.)
Top Three Average Finishing Position
Tiger Woods: 12 th
Angel Cabrera: 12 th
Lee Westwood: 13 th
Hmmm itâs Westie, Woods and Angel again!
Top Three Lowest Scoring Average
Adam Scott: 70.53
Tiger Woods: 70.55
Angel Cabrera: 70.6
Top Three Best In Final Round
Adam Scott: 68.25
Bo Van Pelt: 69.33
Tiger Woods: 69.6
Bo Van Pelt? Heâs not even in the field.
And finallyâ¦â¦
Who would you say is the biggest Augusta earner over the past five stagings?
If you said Angel Cabrera you would be right. He has won $2.6 million, pipping Adam Scott by pocket change of $100,000.
