2014 Masters Betting Watch: Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson 454 Holes Without A 3-Putt
What a fantastic spot by Alex Myers who trawled the stats to discover that between them, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson have gone a grand total of 454 holes on the PGA Tour without a three-putt.
And there I was thinking both men probably had a three stab EVERY round, such is the cavalier way they play the game. But no.
We were surprised to discover these two bombers off the tee currently have the two longest streaks of avoiding a three-putt on the PGA Tour (through the WGC-Cadillac Championship). Bubba's streak has lasted 237 holes over seven tournaments, while Johnson's has spanned 217 holes over six events.
Watson pipped Johnson to the Northern Trust Open recently and will be looking for a repeat of his 2012 Green Jacket win. Apart from that win, Bubba has no real Augusta pedigree, but back in 2012 he had brought serious form into the event coming second in the WGC Cadillac and tying fourth at Bay Hill. He is currently 25/1 with the bookies but expect those odds to tumble if he plays well at Bay Hill next week.
Dustin Johnson it has to be remembered is still relatively inexperienced with only four appearances at The Masters. Though he has six top 10âs combined in the other Majors, Dustin has never managed that feat at Augusta, his best was a T13 in 2013. However given his incredible run of form since winning the WGC HSBC Champions, the bookies are taking no chances offering odds of 20/1.
