Adam Scott Can Take World No 1 Spot At WGC Cadillac
According to the absolutely daft way the official world rankings work, Adam Scott will most likely become golfâs new number one player if he wins the WGC Cadillac.
The Aussie who hadnât played since the Sony Open until he rocked back up at The Honda is poised to take the top spot if he wins and Tiger Woods cannot finish better than sixth this week.
That looks unlikely at present for the injured Tiger Woods who withdrew (citing an injured back) for just the sixth time in almost 300 starts at the Honda Classic. Itâs still unclear whether heâll play the no-cut event this week.
Scott would earn approximately 74 points for winning in Doral moving him from 8.55 to 10.16 average world ranking points. Tiger is currently top at 10.05. He would need sixth or better to stay ahead of Scott irrespective of what he does.
