Strings Nailed By Two Pings

Here’s Irish rugby legend Peter Stringer as you have never seen him before, using his head as a tee box while Mick O’Driscoll and Eoin Cadogan prepare to swing.

REPRO FREE
Sports stars Mick O Driscoll, Peter Stringer and Eoin Cadogan swung their support in favour of golf today to launch the annual Lee Valley Golf Classic in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research, who fundraise for research projects taking place at Cork Cancer Research Centre. The event, which is being sponsored by The River Lee Hotel and supported by Musgrave Group Janssen Pharmaceutical and Quish’s SuperValu, will take place on September 13 at the beautiful Lee Valley Golf Club and will raise much needed funds to find new treatments for poor prognosis cancers. www.breakthroughcancerresearch.ie
Pic Daragh Mc Sweeney/ProvisionThe pair took turns takings divots out of the scrum half’s dome to launch the Lee Valley Golf Classic in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research, who fundraise for research projects taking place at Cork Cancer Research Centre.

The event will take place this Thursday, September 13th at Lee Valley and there are limited tee times still available at €300 for a team of three, including green fees, a meal and a goodie bag. For information on how to book a tee time or sponsor a tee box, contact Dermot Walsh on 021 4870902 or 087 7757632. For further information on Breakthrough Cancer Research, see www.breakthroughcancerresearch.ie or their Facebook page.

Stringer who lost an ear, his nose and obliterated a cheekbone for the photo shoot is expected to miss most of the season. But sure he’s not on the team anymore anyway so it’s alright. Only jokin Strings!
