Phil Mickelson Finds A Titleist 980F In Garage From 2003 And Sticks It In Bag

This is one that will have the marketing geniuses shaking their heads.  While they are busy trying to tell us that brand spanking new clubs have lower and deeper CG’s, thinner faces and higher COR’s, here’s Phil Mickelson ambling out to his garage, finding a nine year old club, putting it back in his bag and nailing it.

Mickelson tied for second using a 2003 issue Titleist 980F 5-Wood (17°) with a Graphite Design PM 902 shaft.  His Callaway paymasters (who he switched to from Titleist in 2004) wont be too happy that he ditched his Callaway RAZR Fit 5-wood (18°) with the Titleist.

There’s only place you can buy the Titleist 980F these days and that’s at Golfbidder.co.uk.  If you’ve never been on the Golfbidder site, you should check it out.  As well as all the new releases Golfbidder have a huge range of pre-owned gems.  Mickelson’s Titleist 980F starts at £49 on Golfbidder.
