2013 Tshwane Open Betting Preview and Tips
Jaco Van Zyl 14/1
No doubt will be amongst the short odds favourites by kick off on Thursday. Just outside the top 10 at the Joburg Open, Jaco lost out narrowly to Darren Fichardt at the Africa Open and won a Pro-Am event in South Africa last week.
Andy Sullivan 38/1
Itâs the 33 event of Andy Sullivanâs career and heâs had an absolutely fantastic start. Ninth in Qatar, 12th in Dubai and a top five at the Africa Open last time out. While the big names are away, Sullivan could make hay!
Desvonde Botes 100/1
Very impressive to finish tied fifth at the Africa Open last time out given his first round of 74. This copper leaf course is wide open off the tee but with a premium on hitting the small greens. Botes was fourth in the GIR category at East London and at odds of 100/1 is worth a small each way flutter.
Best Of The Rest
Tour school winner John Parry 120/1 was also in that tie for 17th at the Africa Open, making his first cut in three on his return to the main Tour. Paz was the winner of the 2010 Vivendi Cup and on his day can contend again.
Jorge Campillo 120/1 shot a 63 on the Saturday at East London, and with a little more consistency can achieve a top five to pay out each way. Scored a great top ten in Abu Dhabi HSBC last month after a poor first round. One to watch.
Darren Clarke 100/1: Big Darren isnât so big anymore! Physically I mean, heâll always be a golfing legend. Darren has been running on the beach at Portrush and looks to be getting into great shape. Will this lead to a new lease of life on the golf course? Weâll see this week!
Iâm biased here but Iâm putting a euro each way on our GIR diarist David Higgins 260/1 who stayed on South Africa to practice for this event. Higgins was in contention all the way at the Africa Open but tying 17th and is sure to be that bit sharper on a course he says heâs comfortable on.
