Steve Stricker Graciously Cancels Hunting Trip To Go Collect Wheelbarrow Of Cash

Steve Stricker is one of the Tour’s nice guys.  He’s so nice that he has cancelled his planned hunting trip to Colorado so that one player at the Tour Championship wont have to play on their own each day. I’m serious. 

If for some reason one of the 30 players that qualify for the Tour Championship cash grab cannot make it, there is no provision for an alternate to take his place. Since they play in twos, one player each day would have to play alone. And Stricks wasn’t having that.

"If I don't go there's one guy that's going to be going out in a single every day, and under his breath he was probably going to be cussing me," Stricker said. "I didn't think that would be fair to the field or the other players."

Such is wealth on offer on the PGA Tour semi retired Stricks finds himself standing eighth in the FedEx Cup after showing up for just 11 events this season.  After finishing second three times including at the Deutsche Bank in Boston, Stricker is busily cleaning the Elk guts out of his wheelbarrow to make room for a possible $10 million in cash.

Steve wife’s as it turns out, is just a nice as he, graciously agreeing that hubby play golf instead of heading away with his mates to an isolated cabin with a fridge jammed with beer.

"I had a good talk with (wife Nicki) on the way home right after Boston and thought it was pretty important for me to go and play and not go hunting instead," Stricker said. "Even though I'd rather go hunting, I think it's pretty important, being in the position I am in, top 10 going into this week. I still have the opportunity and the chance to win, which I didn't think I'd be in this position starting the year with the limited playing schedule.

" … It's our marquee event. It's the Super Bowl of our year, and for me to just kind of say, you know what, I'm in the top 10, I'm not coming, to walk away from that I think would have been foolish."

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
