2013 Italian Open Betting Preview, Tips and Predictions
70° OPEN D'ITALIA LINDT, Golf Club Torino, Turin, Italy 19 Sep 2013 - 22 Sep 2013

Gregory Bourdy 28/1
Gregory went to Switzerland the week after winning in Wales but took a well deserved rest last week while the others battled it out in Holland. The Frenchman has done well here for the past couple of years; he finished just outside the top 10 in 2011 and tied third last year. Traditionally one of the easiest layouts of the season for these guys, the putting contest should suit Bourdy.
David Horsey 33/1
Iâm a Horsey fan and delighted heâs coming back into form. David had a good run in late March and has come strong again with four top-25âs in his last five events. Breaking into the top 10 at the KLM Open last week was significant for him too. Narrowly lost out to Freddie the Hed in 2010, so knows how to go low on this course.
Gary Boyd 150/1
I love when I see some long odds value and think Iâve spotted some with Gary Boyd at 150/1. Granted his form hasnât been great this season but a top 20 in Gleneagles shows he can mix it with the big dogs. Tied second in 2011 and came back and tied fifth last year. Even to finish in the top 10, Gary is a great odds.
Bernd Wiesberger 16/1
The Austrian has had some close shaves this season, Iâm thinking Gleneagles, Germany, Nordea, Hassan here, but couldnât quite convert. However with 20 under and better winning in Torino over the past few seasons you have to figure thereâs very little to get in Berndâs way this week.
Michael Jonzon 200/1
Michael Jonzon impressed me last week in Holland and was unlucky not to scrape a top 10. The former Castello Masters winner is 200/1 this week. He tied sixth in 2011 just four back of Robert Rock.
Best Of The Rest
Robert Rock himself is 80/1 but to be honest I donât know whatâs happening with him. Played brilliantly in Ireland to finish second, then missed four cuts, did well for the first two rounds in Holland then let it slip again. Donât count him out though. We fancied Simon Dyson last week at the KLM on the back of six consecutive top 30 finishes and on a course he had won on previously. He didnât let us down either, tying third. This week he has added the Italian Open and though he doesnât usually play here has to be respected at 18/1
Iâm going to stick a quid each way on Peter Whiteford too at 200/1, he was fourth two years ago.
