Tiger Woods hits a drive from Europe to Asia

No matter what the golf overlords call this time of year, most of us will forever know it as the Silly Season, and it is things like this exhibition from Tiger Woods that will hold that name true for another year.

Woods, who is reportedly getting $3 million in appearance fees for this week's Turkish Airlines Open, did something not even the most famous golfers in the world will ever be able to say they did; he hit a shot from one continent to another.

The No. 1 player in the world was set up on a platform on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul on Tuesday and hit a drive from Europe to Asia.

As you can see in the above video, which doesn't exactly capture the moment, Tiger took a couple of attempts to pull off his own "Tin Cup" moment ("he hit it down the (expletive) road"), but I give the event credit for at least trying something totally different, even if it apparently caused mayhem with the traffic (Apparently it was closed during one of the busiest times of the day for this, so I'm sure the non-golf fans excited to get home weren't thrilled).

Still, a pretty cool idea and hopefully no cars were dinged in the making of this video.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
