Tiger Woods Secretly Still Follows Hank Haneyâs Teachings Over Sean Foley
Nice spot by golf writer Bob Harig who figured that even though Tiger Woods and Hank Haney have pilloried each other in the media over the last few weeks, Woods still references in detail all the work he did with Haney when he plays bad.
The fight started when Haney concluded on radio show that Tiger is now too muscled up to play golf saying "My opinion is he overdoes that." Haney maintained when Woods was young and thin, he created more speed.
When Woods played badly in Dubai, he blamed Haney, even going into the detail.
"It's my old pattern again. With my last coach (Hank), it was a push-block. We tried to get out of that and go to a cut. It's harder to aim right knowing that I've got to cut it.
What the hell? Then Tiger plays worse the next day and says
"I've been hitting hot pulls and every one of those things has some serious heat on it, which is nice, but I just need to get it online. I would rather hit the hot pull than the big flame-out, crop duster to the right. The hot pull is fine because it's easy to fix; it's getting down there and just have to aim it a little bit more."
Then Haney goes on twitter and answers several followers swing questions with "hot pull" and "crop duster."
In summary Harig finds it, as I do, strange that Woods keeps harping back to Haney like this when he struggles.
âHe has been working with Sean Foley for 3½ years and has won eight times, more than any other player in the world, in the past two seasons,â say Harig.
I think they still love each other!
