Kenny Perry has given birth to a "wonderful", "beautiful" son with Tom Kite by his side in hospital. The baby weighed 18lbs 6oz and was born at 4.24pm. Kenny went into the early stages of labour this morning.
Proud Father Tom Kite said tonight: "We could not be happier."
The birth was announced with a press release, a change to the planned protocol which was to see the news delivered to Champions Tour head office and displayed on an easel.
The statement said: "His Royal Perryness Kenny Perry was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm. The baby weighs 18lbs 6oz.
"His Royal Perryness and his child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight."
The newest Perryâs name is yet to be announced but will be revealed "in due course". Bookies have installed the name âVijayâ as the firm favourite.
The baby was delivered by Sir Nick Faldoâs former gynaecologist Fanny Sunnesson, who declared the new arrival a "wonderful baby, beautiful baby" as he left the hospital alongside other members of the medical team.
The baby will have the title the âKing Kennyâs Kidâ - the first time the title has been used for more than 190 years.
GolfCentralDaily extends its congratulations.
