2013 The Barclays Betting Preview, Tips and Predictions. FedEx Cup Playoffs
The Barclays, Liberty National GC ⢠Jersey City,New Jersey. Field: Top 125 FedExCup Pts. Standings. Purse: $8,000,000 of which winning Share: $1,440,000
And heâs won five times in 2013. Secondly I bet he still thinks about that putt that slid buy on the final green here in 2009. Hit perfectly, it did everything but drop; had he held it Woods would have been in a playoff with Heath Slocum. So, Tiger has unfinished business in New York and I expect him to mop it up this week.
Jordan Spieth is 60/1 and has been the revelation on the season. I make it seven top 10 finishes in 23 regular PGA Tour starts including his win at the John Deere. Showed he was back to good form by getting into the playoff at The Wyndham last week and is certainly one to watch.

Tiger Woods 7/1
I absolutely hate tipping Tiger Woods because heâs rarely under my odds cut-off point of 10/1 below which I think the fun kind of goes out of betting. However Tiger is creeping up towards those odds on the exchanges (at time of writing) after a poor showing at the US PGA when heavily favoured in the Power Rankings. Odds aside, I like Tiger at Liberty National for a number of reasons. Firstly, this year he has proven that he can go to courses that suit his game and win. Liberty National suits his game. It's tough, most of the players hate it, or cant play it but Woods can. That's not to say he's a fan of the course either; he said in 2009 âMaybe Tom (Kite) did this course before his eye operation.âAnd heâs won five times in 2013. Secondly I bet he still thinks about that putt that slid buy on the final green here in 2009. Hit perfectly, it did everything but drop; had he held it Woods would have been in a playoff with Heath Slocum. So, Tiger has unfinished business in New York and I expect him to mop it up this week.
Webb Simpson 38/1
It has been so frustrating tipping Webb Simpson lately; just when he looked down and out at The Wyndham last week Webb shot 63 on Sunday to climb to a T11 finish from nowhere. Yet another tournament when the silly and sublime summed up Simpsons season. I remember the fresh faced Webb here in 2009 as a rookie from the Nationwide Tour, he actually lead after two rounds before slipping down to eighth at the finish. For those who donât believe in Simpson, Iâm imploring you to Keep The Faith!Jason Day 45/1
Jason Day may not yet bet a major star, but he has been a MAJOR star this year. Third at the Masters, tied second at the US Open and tied eighth at the US PGA have been the Aussies best finishes! He might not have had a win for a couple of years but Jason hasnât missed a cut all year and has eighth million reasons to like The Barclays. Irrespective of where this tournament has been held, Day has played well at The Barclays with three top 15 finishes in the last four years. One of those came at Liberty National in 2009 when the tied 12th. Back then he mixed a hat load of birdies with a skin load of bogeys. Great to see nothing has changed so!Jim Furyk 60/1
âHas Doc gone completely mad?â I hear you screaming. Well with my top two straight old guys Zach Johnson (attending his brotherâs wedding) and Steve Stricker (limiting schedule) taking the week off I needed my third choice to step up to the plate. And looking at Jim, thereâs lot to like. Three top 10 finishes in a row (Canadian Open, WGC Bridgestone, US PGA) including that super second to Dufner at Oak Hill and heâs also a former Fed Ex cup winner. I may be a little bit mad, but not completely!Ernie Els 70/1
Hands up, I fancied Ernie to do well the US PGA and he bombed out. It was visible right from the off that he was tugging everything with his irons and was frustrated. The good news is that from what I saw on Sunday at The Wyndham, thatâs all sorted, and I give Ernie a fighting chance this week. Liberty National is real ball strikerâs track, perfect for Els, if heâs in the mood. He tied second the last time the course staged The Barclays in 2009.Best Of The Rest
Brian Harman is well worth a look each way and currently 110/1 on Betfair. He played his way into the top 125 with a tied third at Sedgefield last week and with a weight lifted off his shoulders could go well again. Played really well at Bethpage last year tying for fifth after he recovered from a really bad second round.Jordan Spieth is 60/1 and has been the revelation on the season. I make it seven top 10 finishes in 23 regular PGA Tour starts including his win at the John Deere. Showed he was back to good form by getting into the playoff at The Wyndham last week and is certainly one to watch.
