Winners and losers from the Cadillac Championship

This past weekend saw a lot of great story lines and we are here to give you the good and the bad of it. Here are our winners and losers from the past week in golf.

Winners

Patrick Reed -- The kid is 23 with three PGA Tour wins since August, taking home the Cadillac Championship by surviving a golf course and conditions that made even the best in the world look silly. Reed is a stud, even admitting after the round he thinks he's a top-five player in the world, and no matter if you think that's cocky or correct, know that the last time he finished outside the top-24 in a PGA Tour event you were out shopping for your Halloween costume. 

Bubba Watson -- A bogey-free final round 68 jumped Bubba to a T-2 at Doral, his third top-2 finish in his last three starts. If you're looking for an early Masters pick, this long-hitting lefty would be a pretty good one to back considering the way he's golfing his ball right now. 

Jamie Donaldson -- A bogey on his 72nd hole from the fairway might have left Donaldson out of a potential playoff and with a bad taste in his mouth, but Donaldson played great when the weather got nasty to tie Bubba and finish a shot behind Reed. 

Dustin Johnson -- His back nine on Sunday was a bummer, but it was another week and another strong finish for the best player without a major championship win. Johnson's T-4 means in his last four stroke play events, he has yet to finish outside of the top-six, an impressive run for a man that already has a win in this wraparound schedule. 

Losers  

Tiger Woods’ decision making â€" If the whole idea behind Tiger’s season is to get himself prepared for the majors, why in the world would he risk further injury to play in an event that could jeopardize his chances at the Masters? Woods looks injured, it doesn’t look like it’s improving much and his golf game cannot handle whatever is going on with his back. Woods needs to take the appropriate time away from the game and get better or his chances at a 15th major are really going to be slim as he’s wincing his way around Augusta National.

The top-7 golfers in the world â€" Tiger struggled, Adam Scott couldn’t break par, Henrik Stenson’s final round 69 still couldn’t jump into the top-15, Jason Day withdrew before the week even started and then Phil, Rory and Justin Rose all played lackadaisical all week and failed to get anything going at Doral.

Ian Poulter â€" His T-52 continued his rough play this season, but it was what happened away from the course that raised some eyebrows. Poulter was playing behind Hideki Matsuyama earlier in the week, and took to Twitter after the round calling Matsuyama an “idiot” for damaging a green with an outburst after missing a putt. Video showed later that Matsuyama simply slammed his putter down, not even breaking the surface of the green but doing enough to elicit a harsh and unnecessary reaction from a man that lives by the mantra, “have opinion, will tweet it.”

Victor Dubuisson â€" A man that stole our hearts at the last World Golf Championships event struggled all week at Doral, shooting 81 in the second round and finishing with a 78 on Sunday. It wasn’t exactly the type of performance we had hoped to see from one of the bright young stars but at least he still has that great hair!

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! When I rocked in, several men (and one woman) were gathered around an iphone ogling and sharing  two pics of who they claimed were Holly Sonders naked. Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. However we do intend to rectify this during our US Masters coverage and assure viewers that plenty of bridge rivets will be on show, both from Sarah and special guest Colin Montgomeri

Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
