MyGolfSociety.ie Launch Online Golf Society Management System

Congrats and best of luck to all the lads in mygolfsociety.ie who today announced the launch of a new online system to make society golf booking in Ireland even easier.  Here’s the details.

logo-mgsA revolutionary new product designed to help with the management of golf societies has just been launched by My Golf Society. For the first time, society organisers will be able to manage every aspect of their golfing calendar online, including fixtures, timesheets, results, handicaps and much more. Director of My Golf Society, Andy Kenny: ‘’We are delighted to be in a position to bring this product to the Irish golfing industry. We feel that this product will bring about a more structured society industry in Ireland, which will benefit both, societies and golf clubs’’.

The new society management system, launched this month, looks set to make the role of being a society organiser a little easier. The system allows the administrator to manage every aspect of their golfing calendar online, and easily share it with their members through their very own society website.

Once the administrator has set the fixture list for the year, members can then add themselves (and guests) to each timesheet. These timesheets are visible to every member of the society, which allows them add themselves to individual slots and the administrator to move them around.

Each society is given their own website as part of the management system. Each website has two advertising spaces which can be filled by the society themselves, most likely by a local bar or business. This looks like a very useful function as societies should find it relatively easy to get local businesses to occupy these slots.

Societies have argued about handicaps for as long as they have existed, but the My Golf Society management system seems to have provided a solution to this problem. It offers the administrator a platform to update all handicaps online after each event, which should eliminate any confusion with player’s handicaps as it will be clear for every member to see.

After each event, the administrator can update the results of all classes and miscellaneous prizes to the website. They also have the opportunity to update their own ‘Golfer Of The Year’ points with their own scoring system, or else use the My Golf Society recommended scoring system. This happens automatically once the results are recorded and the standings table is visible to all members throughout the year, which should encourage great rivalry for the last few events.

There are also functions in place which allow the administrator the opportunity to contact members either by email or SMS, directly from the system. This is in addition to the ‘notices’ feature, where the administrator can post messages on the website, and the ‘forums’ feature, which allows members to post messages to each other on the site.

My Golf Society are offering a 90 day free trial with this service, which should encourage every society in Ireland to try it. This service looks like a great addition for both society organisers and members alike. Visit their website (www.mygolfsociety.ie) and register your society online to get started.
