Streb takes McGladrey crown

Robert Streb clinched his first victory on the PGA Tour after coming out on top in a three-man playoff at the McGladrey Classic.

Streb hit his tee shot to within four feet on the second extra hole and then sank the biridie putt to take the win ahead of Will MacKenzie and Brendon de Jonge at Sea Island in Georgia.

De Jonge and MacKenzie had finished tied with Streb on 14-under par after four rounds and the former narrowly missed his long birdie putt on the decisive playoff hole.

MacKenzie, who was bidding to win his first PGA Tour title in six years, was eliminated at the first extra hole after a trip into a green-side bunker led to him carding a bogey.

Streb signed for a final round of 63 â€" the lowest of the day â€" to propel himself to the top of the leaderboard, while de Jonge shot a 65 and MacKenzie closed with a 68.

Streb began the day five shots off the lead and fell even further back when he bogeyed his first hole of the day.

But he recovered to make five biridies on the front nine and then, after dropping another shot at the 13th hole, made four more birdies in a row to shoot up the leaderboard.

Sitting in the clubhouse with a share of the lead, he watched as both de Jonge and MacKenzie failed to improve on their scores over the final six holes. MacKenzie bogeyed the 16th but negated that with a birdie at the next hole.

"The wait was a little nerve-wracking because they had the par five (15th to come)," Streb told the Golf Channel.

"And then obviously those last two short putts I was pretty shaky," he added of the playoff holes.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
