Reed returns for Match Play
Patrick Reed: Unbeaten in four matches on his Ryder Cup debut
Ryder Cup star Patrick Reed has confirmed that he has accepted a place in next week's Volvo World Match Play at the London Club in Kent.
Reed was the stand-out star of the American team at Gleneagles, winning three and a half points from his four matches in an impressive, unbeaten Ryder Cup debut.
The entertaining 24-year-old is looking forward to returning to the UK for the elite 16-player tournament, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Reed will be joined by six members of the victorious European Ryder Cup team, with Graeme McDowell defending his Match Play title over the International Course.
Henrik Stenson, Thomas Bjorn, Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson and Stephen Gallacher are also confirmed starters, and Reed is relishing the chance to compete in match play once again.
Reed, who has won two PGA titles this year, said: "Although we suffered a very disappointing loss at Gleneagles, I enjoyed the competition of my first Ryder Cup and can't wait to get back out there to play in another match play event in the UK.
Ryder Cup stars
"With six of the European Ryder Cup players in the field, I am excited to be representing the Stars and Stripes overseas once again at the London Golf Club."
Former Ryder Cup stars Francesco Molinari and Paul Casey, who won the 2006 edition at Wentworth, will also be teeing up along with 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Champion Pablo Larrazabal and two-time PGA Tour winner Jonas Blixt.
The additional qualified players completing the field, which features 10 of the world's top 50, are last year's runner-up Thongchai Jaidee, Alexander Levy, Joost Luiten, Shane Lowry and Mikko Ilonen.
They will compete for a first prize of 650,000 euros (£510,371), with a total of 2.25million euros (£1.76million) up for grabs.
The field will be split into four groups of four, with the leading two players from each group moving through to a knockout phase that will be played over the weekend.
