Davies set for Hall of Fame
Dame Laura Davies: The four-time major winner will be inducted at St Andrews next year
Dame Laura Davies has been chosen for induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2015.
The 51-year-old will be joined by two-time major champions Mark O'Meara and David Graham and course architect A.W. Tillinghast at the ceremony at St Andrews next year.Â
Davies has long been regarded as Britain's greatest female golfer having won four majors - the 1994 and â96 LPGA Championship, the 1987 US Womenâs Open and the 1996 du Maurier Classic - and 84 worldwide titles, including 45 on the Ladies European Tour.Â
She was the leading money winner in 1994 and the Player of the Year in 1996.
âI think itâs the pinnacle,â she said. âIf youâve had a great and long career, the one thing that you want is to end up in the Hall of Fame. To get the call is icing on the cake.â
