Masters 2014 Live Blog: Follow all the second round action from Augusta
The opening round of the 2014 Masters is in the books, and with it came plenty of great headlines. Bill Haas opened with a 4-under 68 as he attempts to win a first major championship. Adam Scott and Bubba Watson, the last two champions at Augusta National, are a shot back at 3-under as is Louis Oosthuizen, the former Open champion that has contended here in the past (full Thursday recap is right here).
The second round is underway and we are happy to bring you score updates, notes from the course and anything we can to make your Masters experience that much better.

7:24 PM â€" And Jordan Spieth follows up his bogey on the 17th with an great, great birdie on 18. He will be paired with Adam Scott on Saturday as they both sit four shots back of Bubba Watson.
7:12 PM â€" a 39-33 for Adam Scott. He will take even par after that start. Definitely still right there and probably the best shot of anyone not named Bubba to snag this green jacket.
6:53 PM â€" Brandt Snedeker had a tough day going until he got to the 15th, where he made his first birdie of the day and then nearly holed out for eagle on the 18th. He tapped in for the birdie there for a round of 74 and now sits at even par for the week, not totally out of it considering the big numbers out there for some of the leaders.
6:46 PM â€" Looking back over some of the scores on Friday, Sang-Moon Bae didn't make a single par on his back nine. Birdie, bogey, bogey, double, bogey, eagle, bogey, birdie, bogey. Now THAT is a scorecard.
6:44 PM â€" Jordan Spieth, the lone youngster in his group that hasn't completely fallen apart, made a curling eagle putt on the 15th to get to 2-under for the day and 3-under for the tournament. A reminder; he's 20-years-old.
6:37 PM â€" Fred Couples talks about how tough Augusta is playing this week ...
6:33 PM â€" Could we actually see a 67 this week?! Jim Furyk has a chance after a birdie on the 16th. He's 4-under on his round and 2-under for the week.
6:30 PM â€" Adam Scott just keeps plugging along after a tough start and is now back to even par for the day. He drops the birdie on 15 for his third over the last four holes and he's just four back of Bubba.
6:24 PM â€" Adam Scott has made a push back up the leaderboard after an ugly start to his day. His birdies on Nos. 12 and 13 have him just 1-over for the day and five back of Bubba Watson.
6:21 PM â€" Even Bubba Watson got into the "top-5" jokes directed at Patrick Reed.
6:19 PM â€" Jimmy Walker, a man that has won three times on tour since October, is in with a second round 72 to sit at 2-under for the week and very much in the hunt for a first major championship.
6:05 PM â€" Fred Couples hit an incredible approach shot into the 18th, but his birdie putt went begging and he will settle for a second straight 71. He's 2-under for the week and T-5.
6:01 PM â€" The saying is, "I'd rather be lucky than good," and Rory just found out that it's true. Hits one of the longest drives of the day on 13, pulls his second shot a couple of yards and it hits a sprinkler head and bounces into the azaleas. Now facing a 15-footer just to save par when birdie like inevitable.
5:57 PM â€" Been that type of day for our first round leader.
5:53 PM â€" Russell Henley, the Young Guy That Wasn't in the Young Guy's Group, fired a second round 70 to get to 1-under and in the top 10 heading into the weekend.
5:48 PM â€" Fred Couples, out of position on the 17th, just rolls the lip for a par. His bogey drops him to 2-under for the week, five back of Mr. Bubba.
5:31 PM â€" Rory McIlroy's struggles continue. After his double-bogey on No. 10 he adds a bogey on 11 and he's now 3-over for the week and just trying to make the cut.
5:19 PM â€" Pretty great hashtag from our Masters leader.
5:17 PM â€" Jonas Blixt quietly in with his second straight under par round. Blixt sits at 3-under for the week and four back of Bubba.
5:11 PM â€" Rory McIlroy and the 10th hole will just never get along. McIlroy makes a double-bogey on No. 10, dropping him to 3-over for the day and 2-over for the week.
5:10 PM â€" This Phil Mickelson photo basically sums up the three-time champion's week.

4:52 PM â€" Bill Haas is in a serious tailspin right now. He's now 5-over for the day after a bogey-bogey-double-bogey run on holes 9-12.
4:48 PM â€" Craig Stadler might be struggling in his final Masters, but he had a "turn back the clock" moment during the middle of his back nine. Stadler went birdie-birdie-par-birdie on holes 12-15, a run anyone at the top of the leaderboard would gladly take at this point (including his son, who played that same stretch 1-over on Friday).
4:44 PM â€" Jordan Spieth is one of the few late tee times that is having a decent day. He makes the turn at 1-under, 2-under for the week and just five back of Mr. Watson.
4:32 PM â€" Calmly making his way up the leaderboard is one of the sneaky picks this week, Jamie Donaldson. He is 3-under on his round today and 2-under for the tournament.
As for Fred Couples, after a bogey on No. 12 he comes right back with a great birdie on the 13th to move back to 3-under for the week.
4:21 PM â€" Kevin Stadler, playing his first ever Masters, struggled on his back nine today but is still in at 1-under for the tournament and very well a factor over the weekend.
4:12 PM â€" John Senden, the 42-year-old Australian, just made his sixth birdie in his last 11 holes to get to 4-under for the week and in a tie for second with Bill Haas, three shots back of Bubba.
4:10 PM â€" Here is a good look at Couples from 1992 and Couples on Friday.
4:06 PM â€" Exercising the demons from 1992, Fred Couples hits his tee shot short on No. 12, and the ball somehow stops on the bank.
3:57 PM â€" Patrick Reed, who was going about his round nicely on Thursday, ended his round with three straight bogeys and opened his Friday round with four straight bogeys, meaning he made seven in a row and is now just inside the cut line at Augusta.
3:55 PM â€" A tough start for defending champion Adam Scott, who now sits seven shots back of Bubba Watson after three bogeys over his first six holes.
3:48 PM â€" A Bubba amongst the patrons.
3:46 PM â€" Rory McIlroy, who made a nasty double-bogey on No. 4 just converted a nice bounce-back birdie putt on the 5th to get back to even par for the week.
3:41 PM â€" For patrons at Augusta, the line moving to 5-over would be very welcome. Phil, Sergio, Ernie, Donald, Moore, Dubuisson and Leishman all sit at 5-over and a shot outside the cut line as of right now.
3:39 PM â€" Phil Mickelson finishes his second round at 5-over for the week, just outside the current cut line. If he misses the cut it will be the first time since 1997 at Augusta National.
3:37 PM â€" And Justin Rose completes a very, very solid comeback after a tough start on Thursday. Rose posts a second round 70 thanks to back-to-back birdies to close and is 2-over for the tournament.
3:17 PM â€" This image of Billy Horschel and his caddie after their eagle on No. 2 is great.
3:09 PM â€" The three low former Masters champions are Bubba Watson (-7), Mike Weir (-3) and Fred Couples (-3). Probably didn't have that trio in your picks this week, I'd assume.
3:08 PM â€" So Bubba is done with rounds of 69-68, so we are now keeping our eye on Bill Haas, Adam Scott and yes, Fred Couples.
3:05 PM â€" And a very, very shaky stroke on the final hole for Bubba Watson leads to just his second bogey of the week. Sits at 7-under for the week after a Friday 68.
2:58 PM â€" Mickelson continues to make a late push, adding a second straight birdie at the par-5 15th. He will need at least one more to have a chance at the weekend, with a favorable pin position on the 16th.
2:49 PM â€" Leaderboard update â€" Bubba -8, Haas -4, Bjorn, Stadler, Weir, Walker, Choi -3, Couples, Scott -2.
2:43 PM â€" Mickelson update: after his triple-bogey on the 12th, Phil made par on the 13th but was able to birdie the 14th. He's 6-over and will most likely need at least two birdies on his way in to make the cut.
2:38 PM â€" A bit of a surprise for those that follow golf closely, but Mike Weir is playing really solid this week, and is 3-under on his round today, sitting 2-under for the championship.
2:24 PM â€" Five in a row for Bubba Watson, who moves to 8-under for the tournament. This is just incredible stuff.
2:22 PM â€" Check Bubba's reaction to this tee shot on No. 16 that almost went in for the ace.
2:20 PM â€" Definitely worth keeping away in the back of your head for the weekend, no matter how big the lead gets for Bubba Watson.
2:18 PM â€" If you were expecting to see Bubba back up, you were very, very wrong. After his fourth birdie in a row on the 15th, he hits his tee shot on No. 16 to just a couple of feet for what looks like a fifth birdie in a row.
2:13 PM â€" And a fourth straight birdie for Bubba Watson, who gets up and down on the 15th and moves to 7-under, three clear of a group of three players at 3-under. Great stuff from the 2012 Masters champion.
2:12 PM â€" Not the start Adam Scott wanted, with a bogey on his opening hole. He's now 2-under, four back of Bubba.
2:10 PM â€" Augusta National is absolutely beautiful, but that isn't for lack of effort. The grounds crew keeping it flawless on Friday.
2:01 PM â€" And the tournament looks over for Phil Mickelson, who just made a triple-bogey on the 12th without hitting a single shot in the hazard. He went front bunker to back bunker to front bunker. Looks like it could be a first missed cut for Mickelson at Augusta since 1997.

1:53 PM â€" And Bubba is now just piling it on. He just birdied the 14th for three in a row and now sits at 6-under with a par-5 upcoming.Â

1:46 PM â€" Louis Oosthuizen finishes up his second round with a bogey on No. 18. He posts a 75 and sits at Even heading into the weekend.
1:41 PM â€" Remember when Marc Leishman was 3-under on his round and 5-under for the tournament? Yeah, that was a long, long time ago. He's played his last nine holes 8-over and now sits at 3-over for the championship.
1:35 PM â€" Another sub-70 round recorded on Friday and this time by former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover, who shot 69 in the second round and sits at even par for the week.
1:34 PM â€" Bubba, after a really agressive approach on the 13th, misses his short eagle putt, but still converts the birdie to get to 5-under and the outright lead.
1:26 PM â€" Your new clubhouse leader is Thomas Bjorn, who posted a second round 68 to sit at 3-under for the tournament. He made eight birdies on Friday, and will enjoy a long rest until his afternoon tee time on Saturday.
Bjorn has never finished in the top-10 at Augusta National.
1:20 PM â€" And Stephen Gallacher joins Kevin Streelman in the clubhouse at 1-under for the tournament. He took Streelman's two day total, flipped it and reversed it with a 71-72 which will most likely have him in the top-10 by the end of the day.
1:16 PM â€" And Bubba drops the birdie on 12 to tie for the lead with a very enticing par-5 coming up for the long-hitting lefty.
1:13 PM â€" Bubba Watson hits an absolute gem on the 12th to just a couple of feet. Looks like he will kick that one in for a birdie and get back in a tie with the leaders at 4-under. Is the 12th hole live blog jinx still alive?!
1:04 PM â€" So remember when Louis Oosthuizen made that eagle on No. 13 and tied the lead? Yeah, the second par-5 wasn't as kind. Oosthuizen made a triple-bogey on the 15th and drops to 1-under for the championship.
12:58 PM â€" After 12 holes on Thursday, Justin Rose was 6-over and heading towards a trunk-slamming Masters. He's played his last 14 holes 4-under including a chip-in eagle on No. 8 today to get back in the tournament.
12:56 PM â€" We have a Phil Mickelson birdie update! Okay, fine, it was just one birdie, but it happened on the par-5 8th hole and it moves him to 1-under on his round.
12:47 PM â€" A quick reminder about the cut; the 10 shot real means that a lot of people could make it to the weekend if nobody goes any lower than 4-under.
12:34 PM â€" And the leaderboard has changed a little. Bubba Watson made his first bogey of the tournament on the par-4 9th to drop back to 3-under while Kevin Stadler, the man that beat him in Phoenix, adds another birdie to join the leaders at 4-under.
12:32 PM â€" Branden Grace finishes his second round 15 shots better than his first. He opened with 84, shot 69 on Friday, but that isn't the biggest gap between rounds ever.
That number belongs to Craig Wood, who shot 88-67 back in 1936.
12:26 PM â€" Just a reminder, Larry Mize is 55.
12:25 PM â€" Quick leaderboard update: Haas, Oosthuizen, Watson, Blixt -4, Stadler, Scott -3, Leishman, Woodland, Walker, Choi, Snedeker -2.
12:19 PM â€" Bam! Louis Oosthuizen joins Haas, Watson and Blixt atop the leaderboard thanks to an eagle on the par-5 13th hole.
12:12 PM â€" Phil Mickelson update; just like a day ago, he has started his round with five pars. He's 4-over for the championship, eight back of Haas.
12:10 PM â€" Marc Leishman has now erased all that work he did early in his round. His three straight birdies to start have now been offset by three bogeys over his last four holes. Sits at 2-under for the championship and even for the day.
12:06 PM â€" I said on Thursday evening that I hoped Lee Westwood's outfit wouldn't break my television screen, and I was wrong. His bright shirts continue on Friday.
12:02 PM â€" If you didn't see it earlier this week, Kevin Streelman gave away two Masters tickets to the Wednesday practice round to a random kid and his mom on Twitter. The karma looks to be paying off, as Streelman is our second round clubhouse leader after a Friday 71. Coupled with his Thursday 72, Streelman sits at 1-under after 36 holes.
11:56 AM â€" You have to respect what Branden Grace has done today.
11:47 AM â€" And we have a new co-leader and he isn't a stranger to the leaderboard at Augusta National. Bubba Watson makes birdie on No. 7, his first of the day, to join Haas at 4-under. Bubba is still without a bogey over the first two days of the Masters.
11:37 AM â€" And Leishman drops another shot on the tricky 5th. He's back to 3-under and Haas is again alone atop the Masters leaderboard.
11:31 AM â€" It's early, but worth noting that the 12th looks to be playing a lot easier on Friday with that middle of the green pin position. We've already seen a lot of shots inside of 10-feet, a far cry from how the par-3 played on Thursday.
11:23 AM â€" Amateur Oliver Goss is the story so far at Augusta. He's 2-under on his round after eight holes without a bogey on the card and sits at 2-over for the tournament.
And Leishman, who carded three birdies to start his round, gives one back with a bogey on No. 4. He's back to 4-under for the championship.

11:01 AM â€" And Marc Leishman continues his incredible Friday with a third straight birdie to open his round and take the lead at 5-under for the championship.
10:55 AM â€" Conditions seem a tad better this morning and guys are taking advantage. Already 14 guys on the course under par this Friday.
10:52 AM â€" And we have a new co-leader! Marc Leishman, the Aussie that finished T-4 here a year ago, is 2-under after just two holes and tied with Bill Haas at 4-under.
10:35 AM â€" Phil Mickelson is off at Augusta. His opening round 76 was disappointing, but it was the big numbers he must avoid on Friday if he wants to get back in the mix. Mickelson played fine for 16 holes, but the two 7s he made were the obvious problem.
10:30 AM â€" Good morning, friends, and welcome to the second round of the 2014 Masters! Some things to note before you get going here with us; the 5th hole is using a pin position on the front of the green that has never been used before.
Bubba Watson, Marc Leishman, Louis Oosthiuzen and Kevin Streelman are all names in the hunt that are currently on the course. We will be bringing you updates from all their rounds, along with some of the other big names all day long.
