2013 John Deere Classic Betting Preview, Predictions and Tips
also check out my 2013 Scottish Open tips here. And my Open Championship tips here.
Louis Oosthuizen 22/1
One of my favourite players is Louis. Came back last week at the Greenbrier after four weeks out with a left hip flexor injury which caused him to pull out of the US Open after round one. He did okay too with a T17 thanks to some pinpoint irons. And hey, if thereâs a man who loves John Deere in the field, itâs Louis. When he won The Open in 2010 he bought himself a John Deere tractor for use on his farm in South Africa!
Steve Stricker 7/1
Semi retired Steve makes his first appearance since tying 8th at the US Open. Did the three-peat here in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and tied fifth last year. If Kenny Perry could win here, in his late 40âs, on one of the easiest par 71âs on Tour, why cant Steve?
Zach Johnson 16/1
Hasnât played since The Travelers which capped off a run of three bad results which was very surprising given his solo third at Colonial at the end of May. I have no doubt that Zach will have worked on his game and will put up a staunch defence of his title this week. Apart from winning last year, Zach has two other top-3 finishes since 2009. Prepare for some âDear Lord Baby Jesus in your tuxedo t-shirt â¦â¦â
Matt Jones 66/1
Last week might have been bad for the Aussie rugby team but one man from Down Under that was smiling was Matt Jones. Just three weeks after tying sixth at the tough Memorial, Jones tied for second at The Greenbrier. Played well at TPC Deere run in 2010, finishing sixth and is in the form to go even better this week.
JJ Henry 100/1
I was delighted to see former Ryder Cupper JJ Henry win the Reno Tahoe Open last year. His best this season was a T5 at The Travelers, but could do better on this super easy track. Finished just outside the top 10 last year. An each way shout or to finish in top 10.
