PGA Championship, Round 1: Adam Scott and Jim Furyk take the early lead at Oak Hill

• The opening round at Oak Hill will be remembered as a scoring day for most of the players. Adam Scott and Jim Furyk took the lead after day one, but a ton of big names were able to post rounds in red figures. Rain on Wednesday night added the players, making greens a bit more receptive to full shots, and it was a birdie-filled Thursday at the PGA Championship.

• Tiger Woods got off to a hot start on Thursday at the PGA Championship, making two birdies over his first nine holes to get to 2-under and near the top of the leaderboard. That all went out the door when Tiger got to his last hole, the par-4 9th. Woods had to settle for a double-bogey on his final hole, dropping him from 1-under to 1-over and well back of the lead at Oak Hill. It wasn't exactly a horrible start for Tiger's bid for a 15th major, but it wasn't what he wanted either.

• Phil Mickelson had some kind of roller coaster day as he looks to make it two-for-two in major championships. A bogey at the third and a double at the fourth had him 3-over early in his round, but four birdies in the middle of his round got him back to red figures. It was a final hole double-bogey that gave all that effort back as Mickelson joined Woods at 1-over with three rounds to play.

• Jim Furyk might have that U.S. Open on his résumé, but he hasn't had a ton of success at the PGA Championship over the years. No worries, as Furyk got off to an incredibly hot start on Thursday at Oak Hill with a round of 5-under 65. Furyk made six birdies and looked like he would end his round bogey-free, but the same hole that got Tiger at the conclusion of his round bit Furyk, who made bogey to miss out on tying the course record at Oak Hill.

Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters champion, is looking to add a second major to his already great season, joining Furyk atop the leaderboard at 5-under. Scott had a chance to go really low on Thursday at Oak Hill, burning the edge of the hole on both 13 and 15 for birdie, and despite dropping a shot on the 16th was able to roll in a good par save at the last to save his round.

This approach shot for former PGA Championship Martin Kaymer turned out to be perfect, dropping for an eagle on the par-5 13th.

This shot of Paul Casey, taken by Streeter Lecka, was an incredible one and his round followed suit, posting a round of 3-under 67 on Thursday.

The second round kicks off early on Friday morning, with Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Justin Rose going off at 8:35 a.m. ET and Tiger Woods going late at 1:45 p.m. ET.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! When I rocked in, several men (and one woman) were gathered around an iphone ogling and sharing  two pics of who they claimed were Holly Sonders naked. Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. However we do intend to rectify this during our US Masters coverage and assure viewers that plenty of bridge rivets will be on show, both from Sarah and special guest Colin Montgomeri

Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
