2013 RBC Heritage Betting Preview, Tips, Power Rankings

RBC Heritage, Harbour Town Golf Links ∙ Hilton Head, SC

The Course

The RBC Heritage is played at Harbour Town Golf Links, you know the one with the red and white lighthouse behind the 18th green. It’s a short, by PGA Tour standards, par 71 layout at 7,101 yards and the very first course Jack Nicklaus designed.
While it may be short Harbour Town is famed for having among the smallest greens complexes used on the PGA Tour and perennially rank amongst the hardest to hit in regulation according to the shotlink stats.

Jim Furyk 23/1

jim furyk funny[4]_thumb[2]Always does well at Hilton Head. In his last eight visits Furyk has a tied eighth, a fourth, a pair of seconds and win in 2010. Coming off a top 10 in Innisbrook, a tied third in Texas and a good opening two days at The Masters, if there’s one man you need to hit greens in regulation it’s Jim.

Brandt Snedeker 14/1

brandt snedeker funny[6]The 2011 winner has a putting stroke to die for and seems to be back to full fitness after a much better week at The Masters. Sned played a poor final round last year to slip into a tie for 17th, as opposed to the previous year when he bombed around in 64 and won in a playoff against Luke Donald. You have to excuse his missed cuts in Bay Hill and Houston on return from injury and remember his February win in Pebble Beach.  Rallied late to tie sixth at Augusta and wont be carrying a Major burden on his shoulders this week.

Brian Gay 60/1

brian gayThere are not many opportunities for a player like Brian Gay who struggles with his long irons, so this will be a week which he will have earmarked for a good payday. Gay is already a Tour winner this year at the Humana Challenge at PGA West in California and decimated the field here in 2009 with one of the best performances in winning I recall on the PGA Tour.

Boo Weekley 38/1

booIt’s really great to see Boo playing good golf again. A final round of 63 at The Tampa Bay Championship almost stole it from Kevin Streelman. Winner here in 2007 and 2008, those remain the only two titles of his career. Ninth in greens in regulation and fifth in total driving, I think Weekley will have a great week. Tied sixth last year.
