World number one Stacy Lewis explained to Geoff Shackelford how she the got the jump on the rest of the field in the putting stats using Aimpoint.
Yep. Well, it's Aimpoint and everybody can go take a class and learn it, so I guess it's not too much of a secret. But I learned it, gosh it's been almost three years, two and a half, three years. It's really based on gravity and how water flows off of a green. So every time I walk up to a whole, I'm trying to find a straight putt, and once you find a straight putt, it's how much slope there â€'â€' what affects the read is how much slope is there and then how far away you are from the straight putt. So the further you get from the straight putt, the more it's going to break. So it's a combination of that and you have a little chart that gives you the exact read for every single putt. So it's really, it's almost like cheating. I can walk around and have down to the inch how far every putt's going to break. So I can â€'â€' and that's the thing, too, is you're walking around, you're feeling it with your feet versus looking at it, and that's kind of the big difference because a lot of times golf courses try to throw you off visually with mounds or hills or whatever it may be on how putts break.
I caught up with Aimpoint founder Mark Sweeney and Irish Aimpoint instructor Donal Scott to chat about the system earlier this year.
The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday. Not because of anything that happened at the show. God forbid! When I rocked in, several men (and one woman) were gathered around an iphone ogling and sharing two pics of who they claimed were Holly Sonders naked. Now I have to hold my hands up and say, I had to google her to find out she’s from The Golf Channel. I don’t watch the Golf Channel because I don’t have an erectile dysfunction problem or need to rent a car from National. I’m told adverts for both are all that’s on that channel. How they knew for certain it was her, I dont know. Unless the cheeks of her ass were on her passport photo and they recognized them from there, but I doubt it. London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air. Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive†since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
