Edoardo Molinari 25/1

francesco molinari funny_thumb[2]Great to see Edoardo play so well in the hot and sticky Malaysian conditions last week. A fine final round of 67 saw him grab second and send him to Morocco full of confidence. Funny enough a final round of 67 here at the Gold du Palais Royal this time last year also vaulted him into a tie for sixth. Now working with Sean Foley, there’s definitely now light at the end of the tunnel for Edoardo. My tip of the week.

David Horsey 33/1

doghorseDavid hit a sweet seven iron in the Sky Golf shot centre with his slippy shoes on last week and I think he’s ready to win again. Was very impressed with him last time out at the Avantha Masters where he followed an average day one with three solid rounds in the 60’s to tie sixth. Horsey won in a playoff here in 2011 and he’s a great each way bet to contend again this week.

David Howell 25/1

howellWith a cut streak of 14 events stretching back to the 2012 KLM Open, David Howell may be finally putting his commentating career behind him! Okay his Morocco form is mixed having missed the cut here last year and top 20’d in Dar Es Salam in 2010, but with an average finish of 15th to date this season, he’s one of the most consistent players in the field. Too good not to get a win again on Tour. Btw, I think he’s a great commentator!

Garth Mulroy 40/1

Garth-Mulroy-Trophy-111120G300It’s easy to draw a line through Garth Mulroy for the Hassan II by saying he bombed out last year. But it wont deter me. Intermixed in the high 70’s in 2012 was a super Friday 65 in high winds. Back then Garth was also coming off a bad run on the PGA Tour at the likes of Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach and a trip to Mexico. This time around, Garth is back on the European Tour with a quarter of a million euro already in the bank thanks to four consecutive top 20’s in Dubai and at home in South Africa. Keep the faith!

Best Of The Rest

Robert Rock had a rotten Hassan II last year after suffering an 11 in the first round when going nicely. Even then he very nearly made the cut! Drifted in the odds after a disappointing few weeks in South Africa and seventh in Dubai in February is still fresh enough. Expect better from Rocky at 50/1.
