Jimmy Walker 30/1

WalkerTitleJimmy’s run of 25 straight cuts made ran all the way from the 2012 John Deere Classic to this year’s Memorial but when he missed the weekend at St Jude Classic it triggered five more since. There was still some good golf like his T2 at Greenbrier and hopefully his T11 at the BMW Championship last time out will pump him for the Fall Series. Shot a stunning 62 here on Sunday last year to soar into a tie for fourth.

Gary Woodland 25/1

woodlandRenewed, rekindled, revitalized, reharmonized, Gary Woodland is back to his best. Won that modified scoring borefest Reno Tahoe Open in early August and then tied second at The Barclays on his way to a Tour Championship appearance. Woodland knows CordeValle too, he tied ninth here in 2012 after recovering from a level second round when the rest gained ground. Big chances.

Robert Garrigus 55/1

garrGarrigus is one of those players who tends to find form late in the season. A brief cameo at the US PGA in August was followed with a decent showing at The Wyndham but Garrigus brought nothing to the playoffs table and exited at the Deutsche Bank. I’m basing this tip more on the late season play of previous years including in Malaysia at the CIMB last year and his excellent performances at Disney. I’ll never forget the tweet Zach Johnson sent out “praying” for Garrigus after the swampass playoff loss to Lee Westwood a few years back!

John Huh 60/1

john huhJohn Huh reversed four missed cuts with a tied third at The Wyndham (which included a 62); the last event of the regular season. That result sent him on a Playoffs run all the way to the BMW Championship. Played well at The Shriners this time last season too and having won on Tour in 2012 could have a say this week.  If he never does anything else in his career at least he has that memorable Gangnam Style celebration!

Best of The Rest

Brian Harman 140/1 showed at the Wyndham this year that he has game and could be worth a small flutter at long odds. Jason Bohn who played well this year at Glen Abbey in Canada may also be worth keeping an eye on at 130/1. Both bets are perfect for laying on the exchanges.
