Max Kieffer 40/1

Volvo China Open Round One 1LxMa3WNzNWlThe Open de Espana sensation returns after a week off for only his sixteenth Tour start. Don’t think for a second his T2 in Spain was a flash in the pan, he finished top 30 in five of his six previous starts. Although a debutant here, this course should suit his game.

Pablo Larrazabal 22/1

Three top 10’s now in his last four starts, Larrazabal is the Billy Horschel of the European Tour. Surely something must give soon. Tied for sixth again last week and shot three rounds in the 60’s at Binhai Lake last season on his way to a T18 finish.

Alex Noren 12/1

Disappointed last Sunday from a position of strength at the Ballantine’s to finish with a two over par 74 to drop into a tie for sixth. Incidentally that was his finishing position here last year too, the highlight of the week for Alex being the Saturday 63 which climbed him into contention.  More of that would do nicely.

Marcus Fraser 25/1

Putted brilliantly last week at the Ballantine’s and only Rumford’s eagle on the first playoff hole denied him victory. Fraser rolls into this event full of confidence and knowing that the course suits him having tied sixth last year. Made six cuts from seven career China Open starts.

Stephen Gallacher 33/1

The Dubai Desert Classic winner returned to form last week with his best result since; a tied sixth. Gallacher knows he could have done a little better too, after a third round 75 sent him backwards. Played poorly at Binhai Lake last season, shooting 76, 73 to miss the cut, but I expect better this week.
