Adams Tech V4 Hybrid Iron Review

If you’re a player who dreads your long iron shots, you have probably found a friend called Adams over the years.  They have been the leader in game improvement hybrid irons from the get go. Their new Idea Tech V4 Hybrid Irons, are yet another step forward. The Idea Tech V4 Hybrid Irons come with three hybrids (3-5) with 8620 carbon steel forged cavity back irons (6-PW).  There’s also an all hybrid set that might suit some.

Adams-Idea-Tech-V4-Hybrid-Irons_TopperThe hybrids on this set look to have borrowed the same technology as Nike use in the sole of their woods, the Compression Channel.  Adams call them  “velocity slots” and have them running from the crown to sole of the hybrids to give that extra bit of what I call “squeeze ‘n spring” off the face at impact.

Adams have also claimed to have engineered an even thinner clubface on these clubs and are quick to fire up slides showing 13 yards more carry than their Idea Tech V3 Hybrid.  That’s a bit like giving a kick in the arse to their own loyal customers who bought the previous model, but there you go.  “Shame on you for buying the Tech V3 Hybrid, now get out and buy the Tech V4 Hyrbid!”

There’s no arguing with the data though.  These Adams Hybrids produce the CT numbers of  a driver. CT is a white-coat and clipboard term for bounciness off the clubface.

The smoked finish is also classy. Expect to see the Adams Tech V4 Hybrid Irons  in the shops in late September.
