Sang-Moon Bae: Four clear

Sang-Moon Bae will enter the final day of the Frys.com Open with a four-shot lead after an excellent seven-under-par 65 in his third round in California.

The South Korean made a sensational start to his round with five consecutive birdies from the second at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa and although he dropped shots on the seventh and 13th, he went birdie-par-eagle-birdie on his final four holes.

"Four-shot lead makes me a little comfortable for Sunday, but I don't think about a win,'' Bae said on the PGA Tour website.

Bae, whose only victory on the PGA Tour came last May at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, held his nerve in the closing stages to hole a couple of clutch putts.

A 15-footer on the last took him to 16-under for the tournament, which gives him a comfortable cushion over nearest challenger Zachary Blair.

The American, who only earned his Tour card three weeks ago, fired a 69, which featured five birdies and two bogeys.

"It's been a pretty crazy four or five months, but it's been great,'' Blair said.

Overnight leader Martin Laird from Scotland fell back among a number of players five shots adrift of Bae following a disappointing 71 on Saturday.

The 31-year-old Glaswegian has taken seven weeks off the Tour and looked to be back with a bang after two 67s in his opening two rounds but he was in patchy form in his third round.

American trio Matt Kuchar, Brooks Koepka and Scott Langley are also on 11-under while compatriot Hunter Mahan, South Africa's Retief Goosen, Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and Sweden's David Lingmerth are a shot further back.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
