Turkish Airlines Open Open Betting Preview, Tips and Predictions
Turkish Airlines Open presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, The Montgomerie Maxx Royal,Antalya, Turkey 07 Nov 2013 - 10 Nov 2013
Ian Poulter 16/1
Poults is finishing the season very strongly with three top 15 finishes in his last four events. Followed a Saturday 63 at the WGC HSBC Champions last week with a final round 66 but alas it wasnât quite enough to catch Dustin Johnson. However finishing solo second was in large part due to a superbly accurate driving and short game display. If both those are still on, Poults could win.
Martin Kaymer 16/1
Martin Kaymer is very close. His tied 8th in Shanghai last week included a 62 and brings his tally to four top 15 finishes in a row since the Dunhill Links. The five par-5âs and five par-3âs on the Montgomerie course this week should play to Martinâs tee to green strengths. He just needs one good putting week.
Jamie Donaldson 40/1
Most people donât take much notice of Jamie Donaldson but heâs definitely one of my favourites out on Tour. A winner in Abu Dhabi in January, Jamie has had a remarkably consistent 2013 since. Tied for sixth in Portugal a few weeks back and though he got blown away in the first round of the BMW Masters (shot a 79) recovered to another tied eighth at the WGC Champions. Great each way value.
Pablo Larrazabal 50/1
The Spaniard has been on my radar for over a month and this is the week Iâm finally going to place an each way wager. Since a T9 at the KLM, Pablo has notched up two more top 10âs in Portugal and the BMW Masters in Shanghai; ie three top-10âs in his last four starts. Fantastically expressive, this short and tricky track could be right up his street.
Matteo Manassero 66/1
With MAXX Colin Montgomerie course a new destination and an unknown quantity itâs very difficult to pinpoint a horse for the course, but if it plays as short as their website suggests, then keep an eye on the progress of Matteo. The Italian returned from a well deserved break with a T24 at the WGC HSBC Champions last week and the bookies wonât be expecting very much. However I recall Matteo winning in early November in 2012 and Iâm a sucker for players who perform at certain times of the year.
Best Of The Rest
Thongchai Jaidee 66/1
The ex Thai paratrooper is well worth keeping an eye on this week. Okay he finished T46 last week but did manage a pair of 68s. However his T2 at the BMW Masters two weeks back in very windy conditions really impressed me.
Ross Fisher 40/1
Ross is back following a week off after a visit to windy Shanghai. It didnât happen for him there (T34) but with three top fives in his previous four events (Omega, KLM, Portugal, Perth), heâs not to be discounted. Itâs hard to believe the Irish Open in 2010 was Fisherâs last win; surely another has to be coming soon.
