2014 Alfred Dunhill Championship Betting Preview Predictions and Tips

Alfred Dunhill Championship, Leopard Creek CC, Malelane, South Africa

Charl Schwartzel 4/1

charl schwarenegger[6]THE man around these parts. Won by an incredible 12 shots in the 2013 season staging in what was for me one of the most dominant performances I’ve ever seen. That was Schwartzel’s second win at Leopard Creek where he also has had four second places. Tied fourth last week at the South African after a triple and double bogey in the final round but I don’t see that happening here.

Richard Sterne 14/1

Irresistible on his day but has had his career interrupted by injury on a number of occasions. Sterne didn’t play last week but impressed me greatly at the DP World Championship where he was fourth in the greens in regulation stats on his way to a tied 14th finish. His tournament record includes three top 10 finishes since winning here in 2009.

Garth Mulroy 32/1

Another former winner of the Dunhill Championship and a rock steady performer in South Africa. Tied third behind Schwartzel in the last staging and went on to bag a fourth at the Africa Open and sixth at the Joburg in early 2013. Brought two top 20’s into the Tour Championship where he had a nightmare but Mulroy looked a lot better at Glendower last week where he tied tenth.

Hennie Otto 25/1

ottoI tipped Hennie at the Portugal Masters where he tied sixth and he continued his excellent form with a tied second last week at the South African Open. He’ll know himself he let the tournament get away with bogeys on the 15th and 16th on Sunday costing him dear. However it was another top 10 finish, that’s three in his last four starts. Otto also has three top 10’s here at Leopard Creek since 2007. Keep calm Hennie!

Watch out for the progress of Q School graduate Kevin Phelan from 120/1 this week.
