2013 Zurich Classic Of New Orleans Betting Preview and Tips
Zurich Classic of New Orleans, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, LA, Purse: $6,600,000
Early odds on the exchanges
Jason Dufner 19/1
It has been a steady if unspectacular year for Jason Dufner but he seems to save some of his best golf for Louisiana every year. A tied 20th at The Masters and tied 35th at Hilton Head represent an improvement after missing the cut at Arnieâs tournament. Since tying for ninth in 2009, Jason has improved his result here on each visit since (T7 in 2010, T3 in 2011) culminating in a win last year.
Rory Sabbatini 120/1
Probably one of the most divisive players on Tour and certainly one of the most determined. Four of his six Tour wins have come between February and May but the South African is now only finding form again after missing 11 cuts between July 2012 and March this year. Tied for 30th in Peurto Rico, then 27th in Tampa before returning with a tied ninth at the RBC Heritage. Has a best of tied second at TPC Louisiana in 2009 when Jerry Kelly won.
Justin Rose 14/1
Tied for 25 at The Masters with a weekend 75, 74 dropping him down the field after a promising start. However that still leaves Rose with 11 top 25 finishes in a row stretching back to the BMW Championship in September 2012. Tied second in Abu Dhabi and solo second at Bay Hill, a win must be coming soon. Tied 10th here last season.
Rickie Fowler 22/1
Rickie starts his 95th Tour event this week and has one win on his CV at the Wells Fargo in May 2012. With three top 10âs already this season including a tied third recently at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, I think Fowler will win again soon. Faded to a 78 on Sunday at The Masters from being two under after three rounds. Letâs hope he has put that behind him. Tied 10th in 2012.
Best Of The Rest
Now 46 years old, Jerry Kelly (200/1) had his best result in some time at Hilton Head last week when he finished fifth. It begs the question, can he keep that form going for one more week given that he won on this course in 2009?
Cameron Tringale (48/1) is closing in on 100 Tour starts and with top 30âs in last four events including a best of third at the Tampa Bay Championship, he has to be considered a good each bet this week. Opened with a 65 here last year on his way to a tied seventh.
