Precision Play Courtesy Of Leupold

German immigrant Fred Leupold undoubtedly had no visions more than a century ago that his expertise with surveying equipment would be guiding golfers on which club to pull from their bag.
Leupold opened a store in Portland, Oregon, in 1907 to repair optical tools used in surveying. A century-plus later his name is prominently displayed on high-end golf rangefinders around the world. Leupold is a leader in rangefinders as well as scopes, binoculars, trail cameras and mounting systems used by hunters, target shooters, police officers, the United States Armed forces – and golfers.
The Leupold GX-4i2 golf rangefinder is the Maserati, the Learjet and the Hope Diamond in its category. Leupold’s family of GX rangefinders includes five models, with the 4i2 the prominent beacon.

Stand in the fairway with the Leupold GX-4i2 and know that not even NASA could help you land your ball more precisely.

The majority of rangefinders and GPS systems provide accurate line-of-sight distances. But golf is not a game of pancake flat courses. Course topography often includes rolling terrain and dramatic elevation changes.

The Leupold GX-4i2 provides the equivalent of having a caddie, meteorologist and surveyor cradled in the palm of your hand. Its calculations can take into account inclines, declines, altitude, temperature and other atmospheric conditions that play a role in every golf shot. Leupold calls these various computations a golfer’s True Golf Range, not just straight-line measurements. There is even a Fog Mode, which, unlike many rangefinders, cuts through the thick soup to return accurate readings in less-than-ideal weather.

Combine that assorted data with Leupold’s Club Selector feature and the device will recommend the correct club to hit based on your pre-programmed club distances. When your target is located, the Leupold’s prism technology beeps and the display freezes when it locates a prism-top flagged stick, guaranteeing that your returned distance has not overshot to the maple tree 50 yards behind the green.
It almost sounds amoral to have such a powerful device in your arsenal. To clear your conscience, the Leupold GX-4i2 conforms to USGA Rule 14-3 and is permitted for play based on your local rules. Interchangeable faceplates provided disable the True Golf Range and Club Selector features when not permissible.

These powerful capabilities can sound daunting. Golfers, however, do not need to be aerospace engineers to quickly master the GX-4i2. It is easy to use, though spending a few minutes with its included operating instructions booklet is highly recommend. Hit the power button on the top of the device. Push the mode button to cycle through menus and push the power button again to toggle options on or off. Get your True Golf Range to your target. Play more accurately.

Golf takes proper and consistent practice for better play, but having the Leupold GX-4i2 as an on-course ally can assure that you have every edge over your own game and your competition.
