Anderson and Changkija share lead in Portland (Reuters)

(Reuters) - Amy Anderson and Sandra Changkija both fired seven-under-par 65s to grab the first-round lead on Thursday at the Cambia Portland Classic.

They hold a one shot edge over Alison Lee, Julieta Granada and Canadian teenager Brooke Henderson.

Changkija enjoyed good vibes at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club where she enjoyed a career-best ninth-place finish in 2013.

"I like (the course) a lot. I hit some really good drivers out there (and) the putts started going in," Changkija told reporters.

Anderson, who enjoyed a strong college career that included a record 20 tournament wins, finished a season best eighth in her last event.

The 23-year-old went five-under on the front nine en route to her strong round.

Seven players finished the day at five-under par, including veteran Cristie Kerr.

Henderson, 17, had to qualify for the tournament on Monday and continues to impress with strong LPGA performances this season.

"I feel much more comfortable in the first round than I do lots of times because I've already played this golf course in a competitive atmosphere this week," she said.

"I think that really helped me."

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
