Rollins cruising along in Jackson

Jackson (United States) (AFP) - John Rollins knows there is plenty at stake in Sunday's final round of the $4 million USPGA Tour event in Jackson but he's doing his best to keep his emotions in check.

"It is just another round of golf," said Rollins who fired a four-under 68 Saturday to take a two-shot lead into the fourth round of the Sanderson Farms Championship.

The 39-year-old American is playing this week's event on a conditional status but a win Sunday would make him fully exempt through the 2016-17 Tour season.

"Last year was a very disappointing year for me," Rollins said. "I am just enjoying where I am at right now. My golf game feels pretty good and I am having fun with it.

"I will try it one more day and see where it stacks up."

Rollins finished 54 holes at 14-under-par 202 at the Country Club of Jackson. He will go for his fourth USPGA Tour title on Sunday.

William McGirt fired a six-under 66 and he matched the low round of the day.

McGirt is in sole possession of second place at 12-under. Jason Bohn (66) and former US Open champion Lucas Glover (67) are tied for third place at 11-under-par 205.

David Toms, who shared the second-round lead with Rollins, managed an even-par 72. He was joined in fifth place at 10-under by Canada's Nick Taylor (70).

McGladrey Classic winner Robert Streb (70) is alone in seventh place at nine-under- par 207.

Rollins, who is trying end a long victory drought, began the round as the co-leader but wasted no time moving out front with birdies on two of his first three holes.

"I gutted it out," said Rollins, whose last win came at the 2009 Barracuda Championship. "I managed my game well around the golf course and took what she gave me.

"I made some putts and had some par saves and that was the key."

Toms entered the third round as the lone player in the tournament without a bogey.

The 2001 PGA Championship winner was cruising along with three pars to open his third round but then stumbled to three straight bogeys beginning at the par-three fourth, which dropped him to three-over.
