Peyton Manning talks Pebble Beach Pro-Am and why this week is such a great getaway

If you're Peyton Manning, one of the last things most people would expect after that epic loss a week ago in the Super Bowl is an appearance in front of more screaming fans, but that is what the league MVP has decided to do.

Yes, Manning is in the field this week at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, playing alongside Scott Langley at one of the coolest events all season on the PGA Tour. Manning touts himself a single digit handicapper, revealing a year ago that he broke 80 at Augusta National, but even he says he wishes he would have taken up the game earlier in his life.

Manning is now 37 and is coming off a very disappointing conclusion of his NFL season with the Denver Broncos, but he was nice enough to chat a little with us and let us know why he is here and what he expects.

You can watch the whole interview below, and you should, but my favorite line is what Manning said about his hopes this week - "I just try to hang around and hopefully not hurt anybody this weekend."

Peyton, if you do smoke anyone in the gallery, make sure to sign a couple of football gloves for them before you hit your next shot.
