To Finish In The Top 10- 2013 British Open Betting

Martin Laird 15/2

openWinner of the Texas Open back in April, Laird also had a good Players Championship this year and was rock steady in Iverness last week.  Showed he could play his high ball game in the first three rounds and adapt his ball flight  to windy conditions (shot 68) on Sunday. Irons off the tee is a perfect strategy for Laird who was fifth in greens in regulation last week.  

Thomas Aiken 14/1

Poor old Thomas has only made cut in his last five events, but you know what, he’s still great value at 14/1 for a top 10.  Missed out on the number at Castle Stuart after a second round 68.  South Africans have traditionally done well at Open Championships and Aiken has played in the last five.  He missed the cut in 2011, but twice finished in the top 10 in 2009 and 2012.  And don’t forget he won the Avantha Masters in March.

Hideki Matsuyama 12/1

You may not know him now, but trust me, you will after this week.  Only a professional for three months but already dominating the Japanese Tour and is into the top 50 in the world rankings.  Did I mention he also top 10’d in the US Open?

Gareth Maybin 20/1

It’s only Gareth’s second Open (missed cut in 2010) but he’s a very capable player and very tidy around links layouts.  Hit form after the Irish Open, tying eighth in France then tying fifth last week in Scotland.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! When I rocked in, several men (and one woman) were gathered around an iphone ogling and sharing  two pics of who they claimed were Holly Sonders naked. Now I have to hold my hands up and say, I had to google her to find out she’s from The Golf Channel. Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
