Finding the right shaft for your golf clubs

When manufacturers put generic shafts in drivers, they are trying to fit the “average swing.” What are the odds that will fit you?

Perhaps you should ask your 2.3 children. Point is, average might be close, but it’s unlikely to be spot on.

A custom shaft, recommended by a qualified clubfitter, is more apt to better suit your game. “Shafts should be fit to three key swing characteristics,” says Dana Upshaw of Dana Golf in Warner Robins, Ga. “Fit the flex to the clubhead speed at impact. Fit the shaft weight to the downswing tempo. Fit the bending profile to the wrist release point.”

Weight, Upshaw says, is also critical but not for the reason most believe.

“The theoretical longer/lighter/faster/farther combination is not the best for many golfers,” he says. “The quicker the golfer gets from the top of the backswing to impact, the heavier the shaft they need. I’ve done nothing more than increase the weight and made dramatic improvements in consistency and performance."

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
