David Drysdale is also available at great odds of 80/1. He played well in the Africa and Joburg Opens last year tying third here. He also came third back in 2009, so obviously likes the course and conditions. Worth an each way shout.
Best of luck to GCD favourite David Higgins this week. Donât worry D, I backed ya!

Richard Sterne 20/1
With two time champ Charl Schwartzel pretty much unbackable for this event at around 5/1 weâve had to look for value elsewhere. And it didnât take me long to spot 2008 winner Richard Sterne at an appetizing 20/1. Sterne pushed Stephen Gallacher all the way in Dubai last week and if he can bring some of that form back home this week, he certainly should figure. Seventh in the Dunhill on his last South African appearance in December.George Coetzee 10/1
Georgeâs tied 14th here last year looks different on paper to what actually happened and heâll be keen to reverse his final day 75 when in contention. Best of tied seventh in 2011, Coetzee enters this week on foot of a top 10 in Abu Dhabi then a tied second behind Chris Wood in Qatar two weeks back. Another form man.Garth Mulroy 36/1
You have got to think Garth Mulroy will have a big say in proceedings this week in Joburg. Simmered nicely with a tied 15th in Dubai (I make it 10 cuts in a row) and brings that form into an event heâs almost won twice. In 2008 he lost in a three man playoff to Richard Sterne and in 2011 his even par final round left him alone in second as Charl powered away.Danny Willett 30/1
Now hereâs a man who loves South Africa! Danny Willett finally got his win in Germany last year and heâs relish the return to South Africa this week, knowing these courses hold good memories. Tied for 14th in 2012, six shots back on a crowded leaderboard. In both 2009 and 2010 Danny tied for fourth here. Missed the cut last week but that might just refresh him for the trip over. After tying fifth in the Volvo Golf Champions in January, I think a decent week is on the cards on this continent.Robert Rock 34/1
Nice to see Robert Rock coming back into form in Dubai, he closed with three rounds in the sixties to tie seventh. Itâs a rescheduled Joburg Open this year but this time in 2012 Rocky was busy winning in Abu Dhabi and Iâm a firm believer in the 365 day cycle of form theory. Tied for ninth in 2012; if heâs in the mood Robert can grab this event by the scruff of the neck and win again.Best of The Rest
Now you see Jaco Van Zyl at 44/1, now you donât. But you will this week, as the Joburg Open has been an ATM for Jaco over the past few years. After tying 12th in 2009 and 2010, Jaco clocked up a best of tied third last year. A horse for these courses. MCâd out in Dubai, but with two top-10âs in his last five big Tour starts, heâs one to watch.David Drysdale is also available at great odds of 80/1. He played well in the Africa and Joburg Opens last year tying third here. He also came third back in 2009, so obviously likes the course and conditions. Worth an each way shout.
Best of luck to GCD favourite David Higgins this week. Donât worry D, I backed ya!
