Woods to play Par 3 Contest for first time since 2004 - Golf Channel (press release) (blog)

Tiger Woods will play the Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday for the first time since 2004. And he'll have a pair of caddies.

"My two little ones are going to be out there with me," Woods said Tuesday of his two children, daughter Sam, 7, and son Charlie, 6.

"It's special. As I said, this tournament means so much to me in so many different ways. We all know what happened in '97 with my dad's health, and he was pronounced â€" well, he was dead at one point earlier that year; came back, and then came here and I won the Masters. To now have come full circle and to have a chance to have my kids out there and be able to share that with them, it's special."

Mark O'Meara, who practiced with Woods on Monday and Tuesday, initially told Golf Channel that Woods intended to play the nine-hole event. The last time Woods entered the annual Par 3 Contest was '04, when he played alongside Arnold Palmer and O'Meara. Woods aced the ninth hole that year.

In 2008, Woods defended his decision to skip the event by saying, “It’s changed over the years. It’s a little bit distracting to try to get ready for the tournament.”  

Making his first start since Feb. 5, Woods has played 20 practice holes this week.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
