Patrick Reed Responds to Accusations of Cheating, Stealing - Golf Channel (press release) (blog)

Patrick Reed issued a statement to Golf Channel Monday after a book excerpt was released last week that depicted the 24-year-old as a win-at-all-costs competitor who was accused of stealing and cheating by former college teammates.

In a statement released by his management team at IMG, Reed said, “The accusations that were made against me are serious and were intended to damage my reputation and character. They will not be taken lightly. My team and my representatives are looking into all aspects of this matter, and we look forward to setting the record straight. 

“For now, I’m staying focused on my life in the present and being the best husband, father and golfer I can be.”

In the upcoming book, slated for a May release, author Shane Ryan wrote that the four-time PGA Tour winner would openly challenge others’ talents upon meeting them and was so unpopular amongst his Augusta State teammates that they hoped he lost his match in the NCAA Championship final.

Most damaging in Ryan’s story, however, were the accusations that Reed cheated during qualifying rounds and stole from teammates during his time at Georgia.

Reed is not entered in this week’s Farmers Insurance Open field.

Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
