Jason Day won a four-man playoff Sunday in the Farmers Insurance Open with a par on the second extra hole at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

Day made the playoff by only a couple of feet. His chip from behind the par-5 18th green in regulation came out hot and was headed down the hill for the water when it stopped at the yellow hazard line. He made par for a 2-under-par 70.

J.B. Holmes chose to lay up on the 18th and made par for a 72. They were joined in the playoff by Scott Stallings (69) and Harris English, who birdied the last hole for a 72.

In the playoff on the par-3 16th, Holmes went long and missed a 15-foot par putt.

The PGA Tour moves up the California coast from San Diego to Pebble Beach for this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

LPGA Tour: South Korean rookie Sei Young Kim won the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic for her first tour title, holing an 8-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff with countrywoman Sun Young Yoo and Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn.

Champions Tour: Paul Goydos closed with a birdie for a 3-under 69 and a one-stroke victory over Gene Sauers in the Allianz Championship at Boca Raton, Fla. It was Goydos’ second win in 12 career starts of the 50-and-over tour. He won twice in 507 starts on the PGA Tour.

Web.com Tour: Stanford alum Patrick Rodgers won the Colombia Championship in Bogota for his first professional title, beating Steve Marino with a birdie on the second hole of a playoff.

Rodgers earned $144,000.

European Tour: India’s Anirban Lahiri won the Malaysian Open after firing a final-round 4-under 68 to beat Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger by one shot at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.

Power couple: Australia’s Richard Green and his Norwegian fiancee Marianne Skarpnord made golf history by winning the men’s and women’s titles at the Victoria Open in Melbourne, Australia, on the same course on the same day. The tournament is a rarity in which the men’s and women’s tournaments are contested concurrently.

The media centre at the 2013 PGA Show was buzzing yesterday.  Not because of anything that happened at the show.  God forbid! Sarah Stirk Nipple Gate: Navy Top Leaves Viewers Disappointed

London: Sky Sports management this morning issued a statement  apologizing to subscribers after Sarah Stirk wore a navy dress live on air.  It is believed up to 60,000 horny golfers were left limp after they tuned in to final round coverage of the Valero Texas Open in the hope of getting a glimpse of the legendary Stirk starter buttons. “I pay my subscription, I’m bloody well entitled to see Sarah’s Wimbledon strawberries” said factory worker Paul Manning 52 from Hereford. “I even missed the ten minute freeview, coz my mate Derek tweeted that Stirk was going into the shot centre for ten minutes at 11pm”. The Sky statement read: We apologize unreservedly for the navy dress Sarah wore during last nights broadcast, through which no nipples were visible. This was due to a wardrobe malfunction. However we do intend to rectify this during our US Masters coverage and assure viewers that plenty of bridge rivets will be on show, both from Sarah and special guest Colin Montgomeri

Holly Sonders Quits Golf Channel After Contract Talks Fail. Moves To Fox.

Tissues at the ready guys as this will come as a shock to you all that Holly Sonders , the female face of the Golf Channel, has quit and reportedly taken a job with Fox Sports. According to  reports Sonders, who appeared regularly on “Morning Drive” since 2011, could not come to an agreement on a new contract deal with the Golf Channel and was quickly snapped up by Fox Sports where she is expected to work on golf and NFL.
