Hunter Mahan 14/1
Irresistible pick for this week. Hunter has improved his finish in his last three events culminating in a tied fourth at the US Open. Winner in 2007, Mahan has three top 11âs since and finished last year with a 61. Driving the ball arrow straight and putting beautifully, it seems a no brainer. If thereâs anyone thatâs won more money around this track Iâd like to meet him. But will he be wearing aqua?!
John Rollins 33/1
Hasnât won since the Reno-Tahoe Open in 2009 but John Rollins has really impressed me of late. He bounced back from a MC at The Players with a top 25 at the Byron Nelson, then tied fourth at Colonial and tied sixth at the St Jude Classic last time out. Rollins also has a good record here of late with a tied 2nd in 2011 and tied fourth last year. I think heâs targeted this week for a big finish.
Ryan Moore 40/1
Streaky Ryan ties sixth at the Wells Fargo, then misses two cuts, ties 13th at Memorial then misses the US Open cut. So will he play well this week. Iâm saying yes. Iâm guessing yes. Since 2009 Ryan has tied 4th in 2009, tied 13th in 2010 and tied 2nd in 2011. Didnât feature last season, but like I said, heâs streaky. Take an Indiana Jones like leap of faith each way.
Bubba Watson 22/1
TPC River Highlands is tailor made for Bubba, he always seems to be in the mix here. Actually beat Corey Pavin in a clash-of-styles playoff here in 2010 and tied second last year behind Marc Leishman. Several other close shaves make up four top 15âs in the last five years. Expect him to rip up the 6850 yard par 70 which ranks perennially as one of the easiest tracks on Tour.
Best Of The Rest
Kevin Streelman 60/1
Streelman didnât enjoy his last two outings, missing cuts at the difficult Memorial and the US Open. However prior to that he notched up three top sixes including a tied third at Hilton Head and a tied second at The Players. The Wilson staffer tied 10th in 2008 and tied 6th in 2011. Great odds for a player who should enjoy this course.
Charley Hoffman 50/1
Four top 10âs this season and that shock of blonde hair seems to be cropping up on our screens a lot this days. The Hoff returns this year looking for some justice from River Highlands, his double bogey on the last handed Marc Leishman the win.
