Bernd Wiesberger 7/1
Closing in on his 100th Tour start and already a two time winner, thereâs nothing to dislike about Bernd. Cruised to victory last year with a stunning Sunday 65 and with great recent form at the Trophee Hassan (T5), BMW PGA (T12) and a solo third last week at the Nordea Masters, itâs hard to see the Austrian not contending again this year on home soil.
Thomas Bjorn 18/1
The Wentworth project with Billy Foster back on the bag was a nice little aside for Tommy Bjorn but either side of that the Dane has racked up top 10âs at the Volvo China Open (T8) and the Nordea Masters (T4) where he made us nice each way money. I remember him winning in June a few years back; Bjorn is still a force.
Rikard Karlberg 40/1
I keep an eye on Rikardâs progress all the time because heâs a friend on social media and was delighted with his solo fourth at the Nordea Masters. Now if you take into account that this event in Austria did not take place until July last year and that Rikard also finished fourth there (I remember a run of four birdies in six holes on the back nine on Saturday), itâs surely fair to extrapolate that he has an even better chance this year since heâs carrying great form into the week.
Pablo Larrazabal 12/1
What a breath of fresh air Pablo is and why wouldnât he be smiling with seven top 20âs (including four top 10âs) in his last eight events. But for a Friday 76 last year in the worst of the conditions (he had to play the last nine holes on Saturday morning), Pablo would have finished much higher than tied 10th and I expect heâll do so this time around. Thirteen of his last 16 rounds have been under par.
David Horsey 33/1
David might not have timed his run up to the BMW PGA in Wentworth with four weeks off in between but his missed cut there doesnât by any means indicate his run is over. Horsey still has three top six finishes in his last four events (T6 Avantha, T2 Hassan, T4 Open de Espana) and merits a quid each way.
